Williams Receives Missouri Leadership Award

Williams Receives Missouri Leadership Award, Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) Scholarship to Attend SoutheastCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 7, 2008 -- Jerod L. Williams of Fredericktown, Mo., has been awarded a Missouri Leadership Award and a Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2008-2009 academic year.The Missouri Leadership Award is a one-year award of $500 to be applied toward resident hall fees and is designed for Missouri students who have demonstrated leadership, scholarship and involvement. Students receiving the scholarship must have achieved a 3.0 grade point average.The MAP Achievement Scholarship is awarded to a student graduating from a Missouri public high school who applies to Southeast, requests the scholarship and enrolls at any campus of Southeast as a full-time regularly admitted beginning freshman in the fall semester immediately following their high school graduation.

Yoloan to get training for farm leadership

A 12-member class has been selected for the California Farm Bureau Federation 2008 Leadership Farm Bureau program.

Participants, including a Yolo County woman, will receive specialized training in leadership skills and on the issues facing California family farmers and ranchers.

Stephanie Intveld of Yolo County, a loan officer with American Ag Credit, will undergo some 250 hours of training, in a yearlong program that includes lectures, group discussions and travel. The group will visit Washington, D.C., to focus on national issues; Mexico, to learn about international trade; and tour Central Valley water facilities.

"There's nothing more important to an organization than finding and training new leaders," California Farm Bureau President Doug Mosebar said. "Our Leadership Farm Bureau program prepares leaders to serve Farm Bureau and California agriculture."

The 2008 class concludes its activities this December at the CFBF Annual Meeting in Burlingame.
